Why don`t ppl design mobile suits

If you read the Mechwarrior universe in detail, not all the mechs ran on nuclear engines. The 1st generation mechs ran on diesel engines manufactured by nissan, ford and GM, just to name a few.

if you watch discovery channel regularly, these research are covered periodically

too big.....the smallest nuclear plant at present is too big...nuclear batteries might be an option but they are dangerous.Some of the mechwarriors used normal gas engines but they dint really last long...sucked up too much gas....
I suggest something like a scaled down AT-AT frm starwars might be more usable.....or a 1 man battery operatored armoured battle suit much like the elemental suits in Mechwarrior...they could last maybe 24-36hrs before need a recharge?

if mecha machines is to be fulfilled.. nanotech is the way to go. coupled with nuclear fusion tech.. and gyroscopes.

Guess one consideration will be the weakness of the limbs,

with bipeds, i guess it'll be even easier to disable the mech; just aim for the legs! Twisted Evil

btw has anyone discussing this thread, instead of single manned, personal machines, thought in the direction of giant armoured walkers like the AT-AT in star wars instead? seems we are mostly focusing on the personal battlearmour suit. what about mass troop transport or heavy assault?

Can you bio-engineered an animal (dog or monkey) to be a living battery?

Make the blood electrolytic?

Implant piezo tranducers in the muscles?

such technology will probably exist lah, but we probably wont get to see them... unless there an AI technology arm race. prehaps den we might get to see them.
